While Bella often lay in the shade of our porch or under our car she also spent a lot of time soaking up the sun. Summer temperatures in Tirana were consistently in the high 30's C and could reach 40C or more. A few hours into the day the tiles in front of our house were too hot to touch.

Despite this Bella would spend the long hot hours of the summer drifting between the shade of the porch and the sun drenched front yard. She would lie in the sun to the point where even her black fur was nearly too hot to touch. Even in later years when Bella discovered the joys of snow she still liked to find a hot sunny patch and stretch out. Taken on 5 September 2006.
